I drew this dragon for someone who was born in the year of dragon and turned the birthday in June.
I found that there are several interpretations about this mythological creature, and I actually interpret it a guardian or spirit.
I hope year 2020 must bring lights and smiles at him despite that it’s been difficult year for most of us.

Mermaid Magic is the name of a blended essential oil produced by Kayse Williams, the co-founder of Sacred Alchemy Inc.
Kayse and I met in Tucson, Arizona in 2019 for the first time. I visited her and her partner Gary Fleck seven months later in Arkansas, then shared another sweet time in Sedona last month. Gary Fleck is (well, it’s not just me of knowing him so) the legendary crystal mining engineer who does crystal cut, polish, and make jewelries from the design.
Kayse produces number of blended essential oils aiming for healing and/or pleasure, all of which holds high frequency and struck me something when I first scented one of her range, named ‘Dolphin Joy’.
When I took Mermaid Magic on my hand first time and scented it, the world of the oil took me into so-called Kayse’s world, which was fantastic and warm, supporting, being embraced with love. It was literally magic.
The scent was enough to urge me to express how I felt in pastel drawing.

Belated post for Christmas as it’s gone for the year, but I would still like to express my sincere thanks to all of your support and connections you have been with me on here.
Wish you all have a safe and pleasant holiday.
Here is my recent work for Seasonal greeting cards.
Christmas flower is lovely to see and draw. I think I will draw it again for next Christmas (and I hope I will draw it lovelier).
クリスマスカード用に描いたポインセチア。
クリスマスを過ぎての投稿ですが、クリスマスの有無に関係なく、お一人おひとりの年末年始が安全で健やかにお迎えできますように、お祈りしています。今年もお世話になりました。
An another abstract work..
This was where I came from.
This was where we all came from.
This is where I am back when death comes to me.
This is where we are all back when death come to us.
So let’s not worry about our life, but just listen and follow your gut what it wants.
Because we are blessed and we deserve taking supports.

So this is another piece of work for which I had drawn this for the same subject.
Again, I struggled with drawing hand. I would have drawn it visible but in translucent, but all the combinations of the figure, the lines, the choice of the colors, hue, shade…made it a little too invisible or hard to see.
Well anyway, this was my best I tried for the work, and it will be great if this leaves something in you.
Everyone has beautiful soul in yourselves, but many of us got lost to keep it shined in the busy and complicated day to day life. Our modern life makes us easy to build worries and pressures, and get lost ourselves by fatigues.
With my sincere hope of my friend’s recovery from depression…

I have drawn Jacarandas with pastels for my friend’s birthday.
It should be looking like a bit plain work for the occasion.
It will be the last birthday for her to celebrate it in Sydney, under full bloom of Jacarandas, so I hope she will like this. She will be a resident of Northern Hemisphere next year, where there will be framed in coloured leaves when she gets her birthday 😉

So I first had got base idea of this when I read something about identity crisis sometime ago.
I started drawing but then I got stuck developing the image (and how to express with pastel and pens), so I put it aside for a couple of weeks.
The other day, I made a home-made Japanese mochi-sweets for someone who loves it.
Such a weird, while was munching it with a scoop of ice cream served together, a kind of rough image came back. Eventually it ended up as below. Magic of sweets did it. :p

This is the complete version (I had posted ‘in-progress’ shot in here) of which I drew on a card for my friend’s farewell who leaves Australia after her 25 years of life at down-under.
With sincere love and support, and big thanks to her on our friendships, I am sending off on her who opens a new chapter of her story in the journey.
